Rihanna only has minor scenes in "Bates Motel" Season 5 according to executive producer Carlton Cuse. He also addressed the big twist about Norman's sexuality and explained why the psycho had to engage in sexual acts with men.

The recent episode of "Bates Motel" Season 5 surprised viewers with the revelation that Norman has been having sex with men. This came as a big twist since it diverted from the cult classic movie "Psycho," which is the show's inspiration. Cuse explained that Norman's sexual acts with men stem from his alter ego.

According to Cuse, Norman had to go all out in pretending to be his deceased mother Norma in "Bates Motel" Season 5. This would, of course, include having sex with men. "Clearly, Norman's sexuality is all over the place. It made sense to us that this would've happened with him - many times, probably," Cuse told TV Line.

When "Bates Motel" Season 5 opened, it was not determined how long Norman has been having intimate relations with the same sex. However, Cuse revealed that he has been having sex with men since Norma died. This means it has been going on for a couple of years.

In the same interview, Cuse also talked about Rihanna's scenes as Marion Crane in "Bates Motel" Season 5. He revealed that the singer only has minimal scenes since they had to adjust to her hectic schedule. At the time of filming, Rihanna was busy with her concert tours, so they had to improvise. They had to find a body double.

Viewers who saw the recent episode of "Bates Motel" Season 5 may not have noticed her body double. The woman who threw the suitcase full of cash into the trunk of her car was not the real Rihanna. This would explain why the camera did not show her face.

Regardless, Mail Online previously shared photos of the singer on the set back in November. At that time, she filmed her scenes with Sheriff Alex Romero. Cuse said Rihanna "worked like a dog" on her scenes for "Bates Motel" Season 5.

Rihanna may have minimal scenes only in "Bates Motel" Season 5, added Cuse. He said they had to give in to the pressure to minimize her story. However, he assured that she plays an important role in the series.
