Eminem is prepping for a new album this year. However, prior to its release, Sir John Elton defends the rapper from homophobic issues.

Elton John admitted that he always celebrated his birthday. While others didn't like celebrating theirs, he had always enjoyed celebrating his. Earlier this month, the "Candle in the Wind" singer commemorated his 70th birthday and spoke about the controversy involving his performance of "Stan" with Eminem at the Grammy.

Eminem was criticized for his homophobic lyrics. However, Elton John didn't agree with it.

"I'm always a supporter of the people that are getting trashed, " Elton John told Entertainment Tonight. "For me, Eminem was never homophobic. I listened to the whole of the Marshall Mathers album when I drove to a show in South Hampton and I was floored by it. And I thought how could anyone think this is... he's just writing about the way things are. Not how he thinks but the way things are."

Meanwhile, for those waiting for Eminem's new album, Stat Quo confirmed that the "Lose Yourself" rapper is working on a new one with Denaun.

"Denaun called me yesterday [when] him and Em were working on the album," said Stat Quo, HipHopDX noted. The rapper added that he had not been in the same room with the "Rap God" rapper after he left Shady Records.

There is still no confirmed date as to when Eminem will release the alleged album. However, fans have been waiting for new songs from the "Lose Yourself" rapper for over three years already. Eminem's last album "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" was released on Nov. 5, 2013.

There are rumors that Eminem might release his new album this year. However, fans should still take this report with a grain of salt until the "Love The Way You Lie" singer confirmed it.
