‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 13 Speculations: Jo's Dark Past To Unravel With Husband's Appearance

Recent speculations for "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 point to the revelation of Jo's dark past. The arrival of a new doctor, possibly played by "Glee" alum Matthew Morrison, hints at the presence of Jo's abusive husband at Grey Sloan Memorial.

E! News reports that Morrison's character appears on Episode 23 of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. Photos recently surfaced of him filming a scene with Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) on the streets of Los Angeles. Director Kevin McKidd was also on hand to assist the "Glee" star for his scene in the episode.

Details about Morrison's role in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 remain scarce. TV Line previously revealed that the show is looking to cast a male Caucasian actor in his mid-40s to play as a new doctor. The character is described as charismatic, appealing and charming.

This new doctor certainly sounds like a good catch. However, he reportedly has a scary dark side and is manipulative. The character appears in the final four episodes of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 and has the potential of returning in Season 14.These character descriptions for the new doctor in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 seem to point at Dr. Jo Wilson's (Camilla Luddington) abusive husband.

It is interesting to point out that the appearance of Jo's husband was already hinted early in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. To recap, it was revealed that Jo had run away from her abusive husband and secretly changed her name. Perhaps her estranged husband finally manages to locate her whereabouts.

Fans also speculate that perhaps Alex tracked him down to convince him to let go of Jo. The photo shows Alex not looking so happy at his encounter with the doctor. Likewise, considering that Jo and Alex have a romantic thing going on, it is understandable why Morrison's first few scenes in the series are with Chambers.

Regardless, ABC has yet to comment on this speculation. The studios has also remained mum on further details about Morrison's role in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. If Morrison does play Jo's husband then it could foreshadow dark times for Jo and Alex's relationship. The appearance of her husband could also reveal her dark past to her fellow doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial.
