Google Play Store now features a "Free App of the Week" section that offers free of charge for a week. This week's featured game is Cartoon Network's Card Wars- Adventure Time.

Google has launched a new "Free App of the Week" section within Google Play Store a few days ago promoting a free application every week. The free app started last week when Google Play featured Ultimate Guitar Tabs & Chords.

Google's new feature lets Android users grab a certain app for free, but only for 7 days. In addition, developers choose the apps being featured in the new section of the Google Play Store.

Meanwhile, the "Free App of the Week" section was first noticed by Android users while scrolling down the apps page of the Google Play Store. This week's featured game is Cartoon Network's Card Wars-Adventure Time, which normally cost around $2.99 but for a limited time, Android users can grab it free of charge. Meanwhile, in a Twitter post on Cartoon Network on March 23 suggesting that the Google Play Store will have the same schedule with Apple's weekly app promotion. It seems that Google is also making this kind of approach similar to what Apple has, which features various of apps in its App store for free via its "Free App of the Week" promotion, 9To5Google shared.

On the contrary, the featured section of a Google Play Store is available only in some selected regions. However, for Android users who can't see the new feature can still download the app through browsing it on the internet.

Aside from the new section in the Google Play Store, Google also added another update to the Google Pay app where apps are divided into four categories. The categories include Updates, Installed, Library and Beta. With this, Android users can filter the apps by size, last updated or last used within the installed and library tabs.
