“Bones” had its series finale this week with its episode titled “The End in the End.” Many fans however believe that it is not the end for the series after twelve captivating and exciting seasons. For one, EP Michael Peterson has said that he is not considering the finale to be the end as he believes that the show will live on in some form beyond the two-part series finale.

Peterson said, “I am in full-on denial. I’ve been working on the show for eight-and-a-half years. It is my family.” He told TV Line that he adores being in the show and does not want to leave. Peterson does not rule out the possibility of “Bones” having some kind of reunion in a year or two.

The producer added that they haven’t actually figured out what to do if “Bones” does come back but what he is a hundred percent sure of is that cast and crew would be rushing to return. Peterson remained mum when asked if the show’s set was ordered to be destroyed or preserved by FOX when the show wrapped up production of its farewell season. He hedged and said he doesn’t know what was done with it.

Together with another EP, Jonathan Collier, Peterson revealed that they had actually planned “Bones” up to its 18th season. They were surprised when FOX informed them that this year would be their last and have 12 episodes to bid their fans farewell. They also admitted that the series ending has not sunk in yet.

It has only been days since the “Bones” finale but already, the crew are hoping to get the call to reboot the series. FOX just recently have been bringing back old series such as “Prison Break.” But, lead star David Boreanaz, who played Seely Booth, appears not too keen on the idea according to an earlier report by MStars News. He would rather move on than deal with reunions, of which he is not a fan of.

Emily Deschanel, Temperance Brennan in "Bones", was disappointed to have the series end but it would be ungracious for them to fight for the series to continue. After all, they had a good run for 12 years.
