NBA superstars Jimmy Butler and Carmelo Anthony have both been the subjects of trade rumors in February. The latest news seem to imply that Butler is as good as gone from the Chicago Bulls when the current season ends. Meanwhile, Melo is said to be excited about his exit meeting with New York Knicks president, Phil Jackson. His team was eliminated from play-offs contention last week with a dismal 29-48 record.

Jimmy Butler’s career with the Chicago Bulls appears to be coming to an end reports CBS Sports. For the second straight NBA season, they are missing the playoffs. The Boston Celtics were interested in acquiring him prior to the trade deadline. The Bulls front office seems to think that the Celtics actually make a potential good fit for a Butler trade because of their future draft assets. Butler signed with the Bulls for the next two seasons for a total of $36.2 million with a player option for the 2019-2020 season.

Carmelo Anthony may also be on the verge of cutting ties with his own team, the New York Knicks. According to the latest NBA trade rumors, he is now amenable to be traded in the offseason even with a no-trade clause in his contract. The current NBA season has been one of Anthony’s most frustrating seasons that it is said that the basketball star sees the writing on the wall. This indicates that he knows that his time with the Knicks may be running out reports ESPN.

The New York Knicks are reported to be building up their defense offseason and an overhaul of the team would mean Carmelo Anthony’s departure. Josh Jackson of Kansas and George Hill of Utah are speculated to be recruited to give the NBA team a new identity. Meanwhile, Anthony is rumored to be traded to the LA Clippers.
