Acclaimed screenwriter John Ridley is working on a lot of projects, including a new Marvel TV show for ABC. He is reportedly rewriting the show's screenplay. There's still no news which Marvel comic book series he will adapt, but it will supposedly reinvent an established superhero character.

Ridley is busy working on "American Crime" and "Guerrilla," but he is also making time to rewrite the script for the new Marvel TV show. The "12 Years a Slave" writer told Variety that he was very passionate about it. "I still want to do it. Hopefully it will still get done," he said. Ridley has a lot of projects going on, so the Marvel project might take a lot more time to complete.

Ridley didn't reveal what the new Marvel TV show will be about, but many fans speculate that it could be about Blade's kickass young daughter or even the new Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan. Although this is the case, the writer hinted that it will be an already-established superhero in the Marvel universe. The script started in 2015 and is still undergoing revisions.

Another rumor is that the new Marvel TV show will about the Sub-Mariner, a Marvel superhero that has been around for a long time. The "Sub-Mariner" series will reportedly be filming in Hawaii, but Ridley did not confirm that this was his new Marvel TV show. ABC executive Channing Dungey told Entertainment Weekly that he has not seen the revised script for the mysterious Marvel project yet.

Dungey did reaffirm that the network is still waiting for the new screenplay. Fans used to think that Ridley would be working on "The Inhumans" and "Cloak and Dagger," but those two shows have just been recently announced, with different creative teams behind them. Ridley's new Marvel TV show doesn't have a release date yet or any hints as to the plot, so fans will just have to tune in for more future updates.
