Fans of “Once Upon a Time” should be elated with the news that a season 7 is looking more than likely to happen. Only, it will return with some big changes. The fantasy drama has not gotten an official renewal announcement from ABC yet. There are reports that say however that four of its cast members are in talks to extend their expiring contracts.

Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla and Colin O’Donoghue are the ones referred to as having contract negotiations reports Deadline. If all goes well, it means that Emma Swan, Rumpelstiltskin, Evil Queen and Captain Hook will be back in Storybrooke in autumn.

The contracts of Josh Dallas (Prince Charming), Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White), Emilie de Ravin (Belle) and Jared S. Gilmore (Henry Mills) are also expiring. It is not clear of they will be asked to comeback for a potential “Once Upon a Time” Season 7.

Jennifer Morrison has confirmed that she will take part in the new season if “Once Upon a Time” gets renewed as she is fiercely loyal to the show. She said that the show brought too many good things in her life that makes her protective of it. The show’s creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis has assured that the current season won’t be the last for the series. The two in fact had talks with ABC president Channing Dungey about their ideas for a potential seventh season according to an earlier MStars News report.

At the Television Critics Association press tour in January, Dungey said that Horowitz and Kitsis are eyeing the new season of “Once Upon a Time” to be a springboard to a new direction. This does not mean however that the show’s original cast will not be brought back.

Dungey added that “Once Upon a Time” will undergo some kind of a reboot. The series creators are now in the process of trying to figure everything out. What is definite as of now is that Andrew J. West of “The Walking Dead” will appear in the coming season finale. He will play a character that is intended to bridge the current storyline and the next season’s reboot if there will ever be one.
