DJI Mavic Pro was launched recently and it appears the company is gearing up for a new drone that might be even smaller than the DJI Mavic Pro. The new drone might be called DJI Spark and it has been leaked on several websites.

DJI has not officially announced any new drone after the Mavic Pro, however, photos of the new little drone have been popping up on several websites, Tech Crunch reported. DJI Spark is a smaller drone than the Mavic Pro when the Mavic's propeller arms are extended. However, the Spark appears to have fixed arms and brushless motor similar to the Mavic.

The camera on the DJI Spark is mounted on a gimbal that appears a bit different than the one used on the Mavic Pro. However, the camera appears to move only up and down. There is no panning side to side on the drone and it would require the drone to rotate completely.

The bottom of the DJI Spark houses downward facing sensors that will assist in positioning the drone, The Verge reported. A panel is also present on the front and above the camera that appears to hide additional sensors that might help the drone to overcome obstacles.

The DJI Spark drone is becoming a hot topic in the online drone forums as Spark is a small drone that might be intended for a completely different market. There are also speculations that the new drone will be a selfie drone because the DJI Phantom 4 and DJI Mavic Pro have gesture controllers.

The leaked images show that the drone has a contemporary DJI build quality and characteristics. The battery design and rotors are similar to the ones used in DJI Mavic Pro. Previously it was reported that DJI also registered a patent from a new drone and from the leaked reports it seems that DJI Spark will be made official in a couple of weeks.
