'Feud: Bette And Joan' Recap: Joan Crawford Has A Porn History?

"Feud: Bette and Joan" covered the alleged porn history of Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange). However, the star denied all the claims linking her to a stag film.

In one scene of "Feud: Bette and Joan," Hedda Hopper (Joan Davis) told Joan that she was suffering from a fatal heart condition. She added that even if she was dying she was happy ruining the career of those stars she deemed as less-than-moral.

Then Hedda asked Joan about her alleged stag film. Of course, Joan denied it but she was anxious that her brother, Hal was the one who spilled the bill.

According to E! News, there was no evidence supporting the claims that Joan appeared in pornos when she was younger. However, MGM reportedly spent thousands of dollars buying every copy they could find for her stag films titled "The Casting Couch" and "Velvet Lips."

The alleged "stag film" was reportedly played by Joan when she was still Lucille LeSueur. The issue broke out from movie columnist Louella Parsons. However, in Ryan Murphy's retelling, it was Joan's brother, Hal who was shopping her film "Velvet Lips" so that the star will offer him a check in exchange for his silence.

Joan's alleged involvement in "The Casting Couch" and "The Plumber" reportedly happened at the early part of her career. There were no physical copies of the purported film that were made before 1925. However, the people close to the actress confirmed it.

Per Vanity Fair, Joan's first husband, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. admitted that there were at least one of these risqué pictures. He told Joan's biographer Charlotte Chandler about it before Joan made a name in the Hollywood, before they got married and before the blackmail threat started rolling in.

In one scene of "Feud: Bette and Joan," she already issued a check to pay her brother for her silence. Unfortunately, before he cashes it, he ended in the hospital due to a ruptured appendix. Upon learning of his death, Joan grabbed a drink and made a call to cancel the check she issued for Hal.
