Apple is gearing for the new generation of their iPhone. However, the release date of the anticipated iPhone 8 might be delayed due to 3D sensing technology issues.

The upcoming iPhone 8 is expected to arrive with 5.8-inh OLED display. This feature will only be offered in the new iPhone, but Apple customers have to be patient when it comes to waiting time.

"However, our contact strongly believes the 5.8-inch iPhone will be delayed by several weeks due to challenges around the 3D sensing technology but still in time for the December holidays," said Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White, Indian Express reported.

Apple is planning to use 3D sensing technology in iPhone 8, which fuels reports claiming that the company has a growing interest in augmented reality space. The new iPhone is expected to introduce a number of advance facial recognition features, including 3D selfies in its 3D camera.

Initially, iPhone 8 is expected to hit the market in September. Last week, reports about the smartphone not arriving until October or November made waves. However, one should still take this report with a grain of salt as this is not the first time that iPhone 8's release date is being pushed back.

Aside from the 5.8-inch OLED screen that Apple ordered from Samsung, iPhone 8 is packed with tons of promising features and specs. For instance, it is expected to arrive with iOS 11 software, Apple A11 processor, 64 or 256GB with 3GB RAM, latest Intel LTE modem, Integrated Touch ID and long range wireless charging.

iPhone 8 is also expected to arrive with two pieces of main logic board, instead of the traditional one, new speaker design, laser sensor for gesture recognition and facial recognition. Also, Apple may move the SIM tray to the bottom edge of the phone, PC Advisor reported.
