It was announced on April 7 that long time music booker for Conan O'Brien, Jim Pitt, is leaving TBS' "Conan" to join ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" According to the latest reports, O'Brien has appointed Roey Hershkovitz to take over the reins from Pitt.

Even though the exact reason for the transfer was not revealed, it has been established that there is no ongoing feud between O'Brien and Kimmel regarding Pitt. Reps for both TBS and ABC have confirmed that the decision to let Pitt move onto "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" from "Conan" was a mutual one, Variety reported.

However, this did leave O'Brien's show without a music booker, since Pitt had been handing all the musical segment arrangements for about 14 years. According to Variety, the talk show host has appointed Hershkovitz to be the new music booker, since he already has experience in this field, working for Pitt for the last 17 years.

Hershkovitz started off his career in 1999 when he was hired as an intern at NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." He went on to become the music coordinator in just a year.

Pitt will join "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" as a co-music producer along with Mac Burrus, the current music producer on the show. He will be replacing Scott Igoe, who was promoted to the position of vice president of alternative programming and specials, at ABC in July 2016.

After initially serving as the segment producer and talent coordinator at "Saturday Night Live," Jim Pitt moved on to working with Conan O'Brien in NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien," followed by "The Tonight Show" and currently "Conan." Being loyal to the talk show host for a number of years, he even moved from Nashville, to Los Angeles. It has been reported that he will continue to live in Los Angeles as he starts working with Jimmy Kimmel.
