Fans of "The Walking Dead" are now more eager to know how the war will end up in Season 8. Some viewers may already be thinking that there will be more deaths. However, the showrunners have clarified on this matter.

Those who continue to read the comic books where "The Walking Dead" has been adapted from know very well that the show has finally caught up with the books. Some fans are wondering if the AMC series will pull off a "Game of Thrones" stint but this isn't so.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple told The Hollywood Reporter that it won't happen. For Gimple, it's unlikely for "The Walking Dead" to overtake the comic books. It may only take place if the book writer decides to cut the story.

During the said interview, Gimple and Robert Kirkman also explained that they usually slow down "The Walking Dead" if things are starting to get too close to the books. It also appears that there won't be major character deaths in Season 8.

When Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) were killed off in the pilot episode of "The Walking Dead" Season 8, fans were aghast. Come the finale, viewers were already theorizing which character would die next. However, it appears that the showrunners are up for some story stretching for now.

Since "The Walking Dead" has finally entered the same arc that the comic books are currently in, the storytellers may decide to put in some fillers. This way, the show won't overtake the series and be forced to wait for the comics to build more tales so they can produce another season.

Meanwhile, Andrew Lincoln has revealed that he is pumped up to film "The Walking Dead" Season 8. According to Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln, who plays Rick in the series, said he "can't wait" to go on set again. It appears that the other remaining characters are also ecstatic about the new installment.

AMC has yet to announce the official air date of "The Walking Dead" Season 8. In the meantime, you can stream episodes here. You can also air your thoughts on the comment section below!
