‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Promotes 3 Actors to Series Regulars, Learn Their Names

"The Walking Dead" is currently on hiatus but when the series returns three actors will have expanded roles. New reports confirmed that Steven Ogg, Katelyn Nacon and Pollyanna McIntosh were promoted to series regulars in "The Walking Dead" Season 8.

Steven Ogg, Katelyn Nacon and Pollyanna McIntosh are staying longer in the "Walking Dead" franchise, Variety reported. Ogg plays as Simon, Negan's right hand. Nacon plays as Enid, a teenage resident of Alexandria who has shown a good connection with Carl. Meanwhile, McIntosh plays as Jadis, the newest character in "TWD" who is the leader of the junk yard scavengers.

The promotion of the three actors in "The Walking Dead" Season 8 can be attributed to the departure of a number of characters in the previous season. Steve Yeun's Glenn and Michael Cuditz's Abraham were killed in the opener of Season 7, which surprised "TWD" fans. Aside from them, Sonequa Martin-Green's Sasha also died in the finale. She is expected to appear in CBS' "Star Trek: Discovery."

The "Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple revealed to TVLine that the new season will carry a "different momentum" compared to its previous season. For instance, the Saviors, the Alexandriand and the Hilltoppers have already taken their conflict in public and Season 8 will pick it up from here.

"It's going to become a bit more kinetic and fast-moving, because that's where the story is going," Scott Gimple said of "The Walking Dead" Season 8. "The content is definitely going to be determining the form."

"The Walking Dead" season 8 is expected to film from late spring through autumn. The "TWD" stars may begin shooting in May up to November.

"The Walking Dead" Season 8 is expected to return to the small screens in October 2017. A three-month hiatus will follow and the series will conclude in February 2018.
