The "Fast and Furious" franchise has an ensemble cast that includes Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Reports have it that the "Moana" star might have his own car racing spinoff.

Dwayne Johnson is not part of the original "Fast and Furious" squad. He only joined a few years ago, but the franchise has a huge opportunity for the "Central Intelligence" star.

According to Variety, The Rock is being eyed for a "Fast and Furious" spinoff. Dwayne Johnson will reportedly be joined by Jason Statham and Charlize Theron.

Dwayne Johnson joined "Fast and Furious 5" and his character, Luke Hobbs became an instant favorite in the series. The idea of a potential spinoff has been in talks since the former professional wrestler joined the franchise.

However, since Universal had no concrete plans how to move forward about the "Fast and Furious" spinoff, it was stuck. When Jason Statham joined the franchise, The Rock and the "Transporter" actor showed a great chemistry in the last two films, which brings the spinoff idea to life again.

In the "Fast and Furious" spinoff, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's characters will reportedly team up to go after Charlize Theron's character. In the recent "Fate of the Furious" movie, the two characters have already put their indifference behind and work with Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) team.

The rumored "Fast and Furious" spinoff is still in development, but there is no script yet. Per the report, it depends on Chris Morgan and the availability of the stars. At the time, Dwayne Johnson is booked for "Fast and Furious" until 2018.

In another news, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel were reportedly feuding while filming "Fate of the Furious" after the former rant on social media when the latter arrived late on the set. However, the pair had already put their beef behind during the premiere of their film.

"We still love each other, that's my boy," Diesel told Entertainment Weekly about Johnson. "When I was making that difficult decision, should there be an 8 or not, I called [Johnson] and he said, 'Brother, I will be there shoulder to shoulder with you to make sure it's the best movie in history.' And he delivered."

Do you want Universal to pursue the "Fast and Furious" spinoff that will feature the tandem of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's characters? Will this help the overall franchise? Drop a comment below.
