‘Frozen 2’ Release Date, Plot, Cast Updates: What We Know So Far

Fans are now excited to learn more about "Frozen 2" after Disney officially confirmed its release back in 2015. It is still a long way for release, but below are some details about the sequel in terms of plot details and cast updates.

"Frozen 2" will not come out until 2019 since Disney already has its 2017 and 2018 schedules full. Likewise, making an animated movie takes time, years to complete. According to The Telegraph, the first film took two years to finish, so the sequel could follow suit. Disney's CEO Robert Iger made sure back in 2015 that he wants the sequel to be excellent.

Kristen Bell, who returns for the sequel with co-stars Idina Menzel and Josh Gaad, confirmed that it will take time for the film to finish. She said the writers want to make sure they release a good and engaging story. "It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it," she said.

Speaking of story, an ongoing speculation is that "Frozen 2" will feature an evil Elsa. She will reportedly succumb to her villain desires, according to Korea Portal. Fans saw how powerful Elsa can be when she is evil, as seen in the original film.

However, this has yet to be confirmed. One thing is possible though--the plot for "Frozen 2" could once again involve another evil force. This force could again threaten the bond between the sisters and separate them, just like what happened in the first film. 

Likewise, "Frozen 2" will add new characters, including Olaf's girlfriend. The snowman will finally have someone he can spend summer with, especially if Anna and Kristoff will be too busy with their own romantic life. Elsa, on the other hand, will be too busy ruling the kingdom. She will also have something new-a new blue dress.
