More than three years after Michael Schumacher suffered a horrific skiing accident in the exclusive ski resort of Meribel in France, he may never walk again. This is according to Phillipe Streiff who claims to be a close friend of the seven-time Formula One world champion and his family. Meanwhile, his son Mick has been given his first television assignment.

Michael Schumacher, 45, suffered brain damage after crashing and smashing his head in the 2013 accident. After being discharged from the hospital, he has been cared for at his family home near Lake Geneva, Switzerland. His family has rarely spoken about his medical condition. According to reports, the Schumacher family is shelling out £115,000 a week for Michael’s medical bills.

Streiff shared his views on Michael Schumacher’s current health condition. A former F1 star himself, Streiff revealed his fear of Michael never being able to walk again reports Daily Star. As in every neurological accident, one only can hope for the best but in Michael’s case, it will be more difficult after more than three years has passed.

When asked if Michael Schumacher could ever make a return to public life, Streiff said that he hopes that he can if only for his fans. Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher’s son, Mick Schumacher, 18, will be providing analysis for the opening weekend of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) slated on May 5 to 7.

The budding racer Mick Schumacher says he does not feel any pressure in following in his famous father’s footsteps as he made his debut at Silverstone last month. He feels confident that he can continue carrying on the Schumacher name without difficulty. In fact, his last name can even give him a lot of opportunities. The young Schumacher said, “I love driving, that’s why I do it and not because of my name.”

Mick Schumacher is the first one to admit however that he is not ready for Formula One yet according to Express. He says he will play his first season in F3 this year. Mick revealed that his goal is to be the best rookie of the championship this year.
