‘Steven Universe’ Season 5 Release Date, Updates: What We Know So Far

Fans need not wait long to find out what happens when "Steven Universe" Season 5 opens. A sneak peek at the one-hour premiere teases the challenges that await the show's hero in Homeworld.

"Steven Universe" Season 5 kicks off after that cliffhanger in the Season 4 Finale. To recap, Steven left his friends to go back to Homeworld. He had a confrontation with Aquamarine, where he proved that he is his mother's son. Steven finally realized that he is his mother Rose Quartz.

Steven finally understood his purpose being Rose Quartz, which prompted him to leave his friends and journey to Homeworld. According to Den of Geek, "Steven Universe" Season 5 follows Steven and Lars as they venture to the Crystal Gem Homeworld, where Steven is sure to face off with Topaz and Aquamarine.

In line with this plot, Carton Network released a sneak peek at the one-hour season premiere of "Steven Universe" Season 5, which kicks off on May 29. The promo reveals that Rose Quartz faces a trial in Homeworld. It seems Steven and Lars has a rough road ahead of them as they attempt to escape their enemies.

Likewise, the promo for "Steven Universe" Season 5 teased the addition of a new Gem and a Homeworld kindergarten, according to Rotoscopers. The trailer also hinted that Lars may be able to help Steven escape Homeworld and this would serve as his redemption.

The premiere of "Steven Universe" Season 5 is composed of four new episodes, the first being titled "Stuck Together." According to the synopsis, Episode 1 shows Steven and Lars trapped inside Topaz and they try to find a way to escape. Meanwhile, Episode 2 is called "The Trial," Episode 3 is "Off Colors" and Episode 4 is titled "Lars' Head." Cartoon Network has yet to release the synopsis for the three episodes, which are also scheduled to air on May 29.
