The "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale will be explosive and ends in a cliffhanger that sets up Season 3.  Episode 18 will also end Lucifer's problem about his mother Charlotte.

Showrunner Joe Henderson dished a bit of spoilers for the "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale in an interview with Michael Ausiello from TV Line. The creator revealed that Episode 18, titled "The Good, the Bad and the Crispy," will be very explosive. Henderson said that it is the most special effects-heavy episode that they have ever done. "We made a very big episode and somehow we were able to pull it off, so it's explosive," he said.

Likewise, Henderson hinted that the "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale is going to be very emotional for viewers. Regardless, Henderson said that everything comes to a head in the "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale. Episode 18 wraps up the storyline for Season 2 and ends in a cliffhanger that sets up the story for Season 3. Of course, he did not reveal what happens, but perhaps it has something to do with Charlotte.

Henderson revealed that in Episode 18, Lucifer finally gets his answer on how to deal with his mother. "Lucifer finally answers the question of, 'What do you do with a problem called Mom?'" he said. Perhaps Lucifer finally learns how to get rid of his mother for good, which does not involve her entering Heaven. The devil has made it clear that he does not want Charlotte back in the Silver City.

Whatever happens to Charlotte in the "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale remain unknown. The synopsis from Cartermatt teased that she disappears with Amenadiel.  The synopsis for Episode 18 also hinted that Charlotte probably explodes into celestial light before she enters Heaven.

Regardless, the "Lucifer" Season 2 Finale is sure going to be very emotional for viewers. Henderson teased that the ending for Episode 18 might frustrate them, to the point that it could prompt them to throw stuff at the TV.
