Sharknado Sequel: Tara Reid Denies Getting The Ax From Upcoming SyFy Original Movie

Rumors have been floating that Tara Reid has been axed from the sequel to Sharknado, the SyFy Orginal Movie that took Twitter by storm earlier this month. Tara Reid vehemently denied that she was told not to return for the follow-up film.

"There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true #liars," Reid wrote on Twitter.

TMZ got the rumor mill cranking when they reported the following:

Sources connected to the production tell TMZ ... producers had a meeting this past week to discuss plans for the New York-based sequel -- and the only actor they want back for round 2 is Ian Ziering. 

Of course, Ian slaughtered more sharks than anyone in the original -- killing fish from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills and even into THE VALLEY!! 

Tara played Ian's estranged wife in the flick -- and survived the massive shark attack (even when the sharks broke into her HOUSE!!) -- but Sharknado 2 is not in her future

However, David Latt -whose Asylum Films produced the B-movie about a tornado full of sharks- claims that Tara is welcome to join the cast for the sequel.

"The short answer is: Nope. Tara is invited back," Latt told The Hollywood Reporter. "Honestly, I don't know where that [TMZ story] came from." 

So, it looks like TMZ may have reported something untrue. Shocking, I know.
