Less than a month after the tragic death of "GLEE" star Cory Monteith, the FOX TV show and its stars are slowly regaining composure. Though "GLEE" creator Ryan Murphy announced that the show will deal with Monteith's death directly and drug addiction before a three-week hiatus, people still wonder how the actor's friends and costars are doing.

On "Conan" last night (Aug. 1), Conan O'Brien spoke to Darren Criss, who plays Blaine Anderson on "GLEE" about his late costar and how the cast and crew are doing.

"Obviously, it's been a very rough time. But, when you start picking up the pieces after something as tragic as this -- it's funny that you say you don't know how to breach it -- we're picking up the pieces now," said Criss.

"GLEE" announced that after two celebratory Beatles-themed episodes, Monteith's character Finn Hudson will be written off the show. Though the cast and crew are recovering, Criss fondly remembered Monteith, much like costars Jane Lynch and Naya Rivera.

"There's two things you got to remember about Cory. One, is that he was a really funny guy, he had a great sense of humor, he loved life, and he always took care of his friends, wanted his friends to be happy. So, it's only right that we try and start to smile again and try and laugh again. It's something that he would have wanted," said Criss. "On a personal note, he will be severely missed, but I'm just so happy that a guy like him got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him."

The new season of "GLEE" will premiere on Sept. 26.
