"Glee," the show that made Cory Monteith a household name, just released a special memorial card video in honor of the recently deceased actor. The 12-second clip features clips of Monteith's character Finn throughout the series and ends with a simple message: "Cory Monteith Forever in our hearts." So far this is the first step the show has taken in regards to handling the actor's death, but reports state that Finn will be written off in the upcoming season's third episode.

Here is the Cory Monteith memorial card:

"Cory's character will be written off and [it] will deal directly with drug addiction and the circumstances surrounding Cory's death," FOX entertainment president Kevin Reilly said.

"The third episode will be Finn Hudson being written out of the show," Reilly explained.

"It would be difficult to come out of the gate right away and then recover," he added, referring to the first two episodes of the new season focusing on the Beatles and not the tragic loss.

After the third episode, the series will take a three-week hiatus for the World Series, which will allow the writers to "reset" the show.

"The right thing to do for the show, at least at this point, is to have that character pass," "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy said. "When we do the tribute episode to that character, we'll have to do it in a way where the cast members will not have to re-create feelings of grief that they've had [following Monteith's death] -- but do it in an upbeat way. If we can do this responsibly and help young people through these feelings, that's the best that we can hope for."
