For those music fans who simply cannot get enough of Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," have no fear. The two hit singles will be performed at the 2013 Video Music Awards, MTV announced today (Aug. 13).

Following a mysterious promo released last week, wherein Cyrus completely disregarded subway safety rules and teasing a VMAs "appearance," rumors sparked that the twerking pop star would actually perform at the annual award show. These rumors only blew up more when Katy Perry let it slip that she'd be joining Cyrus as a performer in a Ryan Seacrest interview yesterday.

Now, of course, there is no need for speculation, since Cyrus will, in fact, give the sexy, controversial single a live spin at the VMAs.

Meanwhile, everybody can get up and dance to "Blurred Lines," which will also get the VMA treatment. The No. 1 hit is an obvious choice to be performed at the MTV award show. T.I. and Pharrell haven't been announced to join Thicke, but it's likely they'll appear.

One Direction were also announced as "special guests." It's unclear what, exactly, the "Best Song Ever" group will do at the VMAs, but they may just perform. 1D are no strangers to award shows; they just opened the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday (Aug. 11).

Cyrus and Thicke join Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Katy Perry as performers at the VMAs. Daft Punk are also rumored to make a surprise appearance, after ditching a scheduled appearance on "The Colbert Report" last week.

The 2013 MTV VMAs will air on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
