Although Miley Cyrus' twerking performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards most likely wasn't a great moment for her relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth, the couple's engagement has been pretty rocky for a long time now. So was the raunchy dance number the last straw or was it Miley's way of reacting to the failing romance? Plus a recent visit with Thor star Chris might have been for some brotherly advice sought by Liam.

According to insiders, Liam was spotted leaving the London nightclub Sketch about 25 minutes after his older brother Chris departed with his wife Elsa Pataky. Sources say the Catching Fire heartthrob looked downcast while leaving, leading many to believe that his fiancé's performance was on his mind.

"Miley knew her performance was going to be outside his comfort zone," according to one insider who said she told him not to go to the ceremony. It probably didn't help to find out that sources are saying Miley's racy performance was also reportedly a reaction to an argument she had with Liam that day.

"Miley and Liam had an argument the day of the show - she was really upset and she took it all out onstage, so the performance got even crazier than they had planned because Miley was really amped up," another insider explained. "When she fights with Liam, she acts out and gets even more rebellious, and that came out on stage, but she's not sorry."

Clearly this wasn't a mature move on Miley's part, but it looks like Liam might be ignoring the problems all together. Who do you think is handling the apparently failing relationship worse? Do you think they'll work it out?
