Fans of One Direction love it when the boys respond or simply read the posts they write on Twitter for the singers. But what if one of them read and responded to a tweet you posted about a girlfriend of the band member's? That's exactly what Liam Payne has been doing for quite some time now with negative tweets about his girlfriend Sophia Smith.

Going through threads of tweets, Liam has been responding to his fans that attack his girlfriend. When asked about this, Liam even admitted to it!

"This is true I do it lots ['cause] I worry she might read it," Liam admitted. "In the end she's just a girl like u sat reading twitter on her phone"

We now know that Liam is a gentleman when it comes to his girlfriend, but he is also seen as a hero in the eyes of his friend Andy Samuels. Liam's mate was rushed to the hospital earlier at the beginning of this month after a patio heater exploded on the One Direction singer's balcony. Samuels was the only one injured in the incident, but Payne was the one to douse the flames and help his friend.

"We are so grateful to Liam because he saved his life," said Andy's father, Matthew Baker. "The lantern just exploded as Andy was lighting it and it took the full force of the flames. Liam helped him by beating out the flames and dousing him with water. He acted quickly and swiftly."

Andy has checked out of the hospital and is on the road to recovery now.

"My face is almost fully healed, my neck should heal. My chest, left arm and leg are still heavily damaged but every day is a step forward," Andy said. "I can walk, just about get dressed, so I am leaving the hospital. I'm going to get better at home. Can't wait to get home, relax and heal. Still a long way to go."

He added: "Thanks every single one of you that prayed for me. I am lucky to be here and doing as well as I am and so incredibly grateful."
