Earlier this month, some casting rumors were making the rounds in regards to Edgar Wright's new Marvel movie project, Ant-Man. The first rumor involved Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt reportedly going in for meetings with Write to discuss the script and the role. Though Gordon-Levitt revealed that this was simply a rumor, Rudd has yet to deny this claim. Meanwhile, another rumor involving Rashida Jones being cast as the love interest of Hank Pym (Janet Van Dyne, also known as The Wasp) came up, which would reunited the actress with Rudd. This week more news has come up in support of the latest rumors.

Over at Shmoes Knows, an article is entitled "Paul Rudd And Rashida Jones Close to Being Cast as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne!!!" This of course includes some new details on the progress of this news.

The website reports:

Thanks to our very reliable source, the same one that gave us the goods on the Beetle Juice 2 news we broke last week, we have here another very interesting development for Edgar Wright's Ant-Man [...] My source is telling me that the pairing of Rudd and Rashida Jones (reuniting from I Love You, Man) is high on the list with Marvel and might actually be a done deal.

It looks like Ant-Man is at least getting close to casting its lead actors. Would you be happy to see Jones and Rudd in this Marvel film adaptation?

Also, should we rule out Joseph Gordon-Levitt? He recently said the Ant-Man news concerning him was just a rumor, but he didn't exactly say it wasn't true.

"There are always rumors. I talk a lot about my future projects, so if you haven't heard me talk about it, it means it's nothing but a rumor," he said. "People like to write about [rumors]."

The 500 Days of Summer star also added that these reports of his having passed auditions or screen tests for the role of Hank Pym were "nothing but lies."
