This week we were treated to a 17-minute gameplay video for Batman: Arkham Origins, but today we get a new look at the smaller-scale game Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. With the release of the multiplatform, larger video game this week, gamers might have overlooked the handheld game available on 3DS and Palystation Vita. Luckily for us, Interactive Entertainment has shared a 10-minute video featuring gameplay footage and information for the new 2.5D game, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.

Coming out the same day as Arkham Origins, Blackgate featured an entirely original storyline and is reminiscent of Metroid Prime. In fact the developers of this new handheld game were part of the team that created Metroid Prime, so the comparison makes sense.

This video's narrator (Armature game director Mark Pacini) shows interested gamers the prison level of Blackgate while discussing level design, controls and combat and Batman's investigative and detective features. Overall, the handheld game focuses on puzzles, navigation, combat, platforming and some light stealth. Basically you're playing a great Batman game just on a smaller scale in the palm of your hand!

So check out this 10-minute gameplay footage for the Playstation Vita version of the brand new handheld gaming experience, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, right here!

What did you think of this new gameplay footage? Are you more inclined to grab this handheld Batman game before you go for the main attraction? Let us know your opinion(s) in the comments section!
