Fast and Furious 7 has been put on hiatus after the tragic death of star Paul Walker on November 30, 2013, but it looks like there is some progress now that the script is getting some touch ups. According to reports, writer Chris Morgan is performing some script rewrites in order to "write out" Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, in a way to honor the actor. This updated script would allow for previously filmed footage of Walker to be used in order to complete the next film.

At the time of his death, Paul Walker had reportedly shot "almost exactly half" of his character's scenes, leaving plenty of footage available for this rewrite. Unfortunately, the opening chase scene set for the beginning of the film had not been filmed yet, so that just adds to the complications. Odds are, the film will use what it has already to send off Walker's character in some way.

Though it sounds horrible to write off the character and proceed without Walker, the studio is doing all it can to properly honor him. This tragedy was unexpected and harrowing, but the film franchise is moving on, as Walker would have wanted.

"Sadly, it will probably make people more interested," said a source at the studio in regards to the death of Paul Walker.

What do you think of this new Fast and Furious 7 script update? Do you think writer Chris Morgan can pull off the hard task of properly retiring Walker's character from the franchise?
