'Nymphomaniac' star Shia LaBeouf writes plagiarism apology to Daniel Clowes in Hollywood sky, tells Twitter he's 'messing' with us [PHOTO]

In the last month of 2013, Shia LaBeouf became the center of a plagiarism controversy that developed into an even bigger issue as his past works were examined and accused of the same crime. The first case that started this strange situation was his short film HowardCantour.com, which turned out to be a rip-off of Daniel Clowes comic Justin M. Damiano. Shia apologized, but that turned out to be a plagiarism as well! Anyway, his latest apology to the writer has added to the confusion of this whole story, but at least it was creative!

Variety reports:

The skywriting was visible across several parts of Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon, including Hollywood, Glendale and Studio City. A company called Worldwide Sky Ads tweeted that their team the Skywriters was responsible for the message.

LaBeouf also took to his Twitter account to share the definition of the word cloud, and to showcase the apology skywriting:

This is definitely a creative way to apologize (though we're still not sure how sincere the actor is being with this action), but having it displayed in the Hollywood skyline is a bit confusing. Clowes lives in Oakland. But the question remains: Is Shia messing with us? Thanks to a new Twitter post, he might have just given us an answer:
