Rashida Jones is about to leave her role of Ann Perkins on the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation (her last episode airs January 30, 2104), but it looks like she's found her new television job after she departs. According to a new report, Jones will reteam with her Office co-star Steve Carell on the satire comedy series Tribeca. Written by Carell and his wife Nancy, the show's pilot will air on TBS this year.

Here is a synopsis for the new show:

The series centers on Angie Tribeca (Jones) is a 10-year veteran of the LAPD's elite RHCU - Really Heinous Crimes Unit - and explores an eccentric but brilliant group of people who investigate crime, reveal way too much personal information and refuse to rest until justice has been served ... sort of. These dedicated men and women are more than counter-intuitive; they are non-intuitive. Jones' Angie is further described as a lone wolf who is capable, committed, strong and not thrilled when she's told she has to work with a partner. A cut-to-the-chase girl who speaks her mind, she treads where many fear to venture.

Tribeca has already been compared to another satire show with a very similar premise: Paul Sheer's Adult Swim show NTSF:SD:SUV. Do you think this comparison is just? Though with Tribeca airing on TBS, it might come off a little tamer than the Adult Swim series.

We'll have to see how this one turns out. There's plenty of talent involved so it'll at least be fun to see what happens with it.
