World famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld has been scrutinized lately for his web series Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee and his upcoming only including mostly white male comics in the first few episodes of the docu-comedy. When asked by BuzzFeed Business Editor Peter Lauria on CBS This Morning interview this week, the Seinfeld star said he didn't care about gender or race, and only invited people that make him laugh on to the show.

"People think it's the census or something," Seinfeld said. "This has gotta represent the actual pie chart of America? Who cares? Funny is the world that I live in. You're funny, I'm interested. You're not funny, I'm not interested. I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that."

Buzzfeed reports:

Seinfeld went on to say that approaching comedy through the lens of race or gender or sexuality are "anti-comedy." "It's more about PC nonsense than 'Are you making us laugh or not?'" he said.

Meanwhile, the comedian also addressed how he approaches his web series and why the Internet is a better platform than television.

"I don't know if this is where video viewing is going, but I think the network medium of the Internet offers opportunities that are more unique than have ever existed before," he said. "My initial idea for this show was I wanted them to deliver it in three sizes so you could watch it with the amount of interest you have ... Why would I put a show on a big heavy rectangle in your house when I could put it in your pocket?"
