The 2014 NFL Draft is without a doubt one of the greatest draft classes football has ever witnessed, and with so much talent to choose from it's inevitable that talented players will be missed. Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks slipped past several teams two years ago, and that class wasn't as talented as the class of 2014, so it seems a sure thing that talents will go under the radar. Although many are seemingly underrating A.J. McCarron, is he this year's sleeping giant?

His college coach Nick Saban, who many respect for his knowledge, believes so. A.J. started for Alabama for three years, causing mayhem within the NCAA, yet it's Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Derek Carr that are gaining rave reviews. McCarron knows how to win, which is a valuable asset in the NFL, and that confidence could change a struggling team's fortunes around. His team won the national championship in 2011 and 2012, and his leadership ability is one that should transfer with ease to the professional level.

In what many call a "passing league" McCarron does just that. He is accurate, smart and is always looking to improve. Whilst he may not made the immediate impact Bridgewater probably will, he looks to be a safer long term bet. One advantage he may have is the fact that he spent years in college perfecting his game and preparing for this stage of his career rather than jumping ship at the first opportunity.

For teams like the Oakland Raiders and the Cleveland Browns, who need reliability and loyalty, there may not be a safer bet than McCarron. He is most certainly a star in the making according to many with immeasurable knowledge of the game.
