We recently learned that HBO's hit fantasy series Game of Thrones will possibly end after its seventh or eighth season but is there another possibility for the popular show's ending? According to the author if the A Storm of Ice and Fire book series that the show is based on, George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones could possibly conclude with a movie!

"It all depends on how long the main series runs," Martin told The Hollywood Reporter this week following the premiere season four in New York. "Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger (in scope). It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know."

Would you like to see a Game of Thrones movie with such a big budget? There's no doubt it would do well, but would we really need it? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Meanwhile, Martin has some other movie ideas for his stories.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

The best-selling author said another big-screen possibility being considered is one based on Tales of Dunk and Egg, a series of three prequel novellas Martin penned that revolve around a group of characters, including Ser Duncan the Tall, who lived in the mythical Westeros 90 years before the events depicted in A Song of Ice and Fire.

"They could be the basis for [a film]," he said of this other idea. "I have written these three stories, and I have about a dozen more."

Would you rather see a prequel movie for series?
