Are the referees out to get Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid team?

Could the referees be doing their best to ensure Real Madrid do not succeed? Superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo seems to think so. The star player, angry at his teams 4-3 loss to Barcelona, hit out saying "some people didn't want to see Barca out of the title race". Rival player Lionel Messi hit a hat-trick, with two penalties, ensuring Barcelona got the important win, but it's clear Ronaldo doesn't believe the penalties, nor the win, was justified.

Continuing to explain his anger he said "There were some people that didn't want us to win or see Barca out of the title race. I've been here for a long time. It obviously bothers people when Real Madrid win. It makes them jealous. There isn't a level playing field. The referee made so many mistakes. They have to assign a referee who lives up to the game's importance. He was pale and very nervous. I'm not trying to justify myself. There were a lot of things. Some people wanted Barca to stay in the title race and they did."

Will this injustice inspire Ronaldo and his team to ensure they succeed with little time remaining to do so? The loss leaves Madrid tied at the top of the La Liga table with rivals Atletico Madrid, but it's ensured Barcelona are right back in contention, when a defeat may of ended their hopes.

With Ronaldo always in Messi's shadow, perhaps this latest setback was too much for him to handle, or does he have a point, are the referees biased towards Barcelona?
