As the 2014 NFL Draft approaches everyone is talking about the star potential of Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Sammy Watkins and others such as Derek Carr. You're probably wondering where this endless list of talent was in the 2013 NFL Draft, right? Last years draft buzz was tame to say the least, with many stating that 2014 was the class to get excited over, and it appears they were right. As we look forward to watching rookies like Manziel and Carr go head-to-head, here's a look at some of the most notable impact (or lack of) the class of 2013 provided us with.

Lets start with the No. 1 pick. This year there's an almighty fight to be the No.1 pick, but last season it seemed like it was up for grabs, until the very last second. Kansas City Chiefs decided to draft offensive tackle Eric Fisher, but he failed to make any impact. A number one pick is expected to make an immediate impact, but he struggled in almost every aspect of his play, and he was ranked as one of the worst offensive tackles. He was supposed to help their revival, instead he simply watched it.

In a year where the number one is a huge flop, quite often the class is a let down itself. It wasn't all bad, though. Berkevious Mingo, who the Cleveland Browns heavily invested in, had a decent rookie season, as did EJ Manuel, but neither were spectacur.

The general consensus is the NFL will get a couple of franchise changing players in the 2014 draft, whereas the closest thing to that in 2013 was St. Louis drafting Tavon Austin with the 8th pick. He's far from the finished project, but he's shown plenty of positives, and had many touchdowns on his way to showing everyone who he is. Austin could be one of the best players from this class.

The 2013 draft was solid, but not spectacular, and only now can we see why everybody was looking forward to the 2014 NFL Draft instead of the 2013 draft.
