Ellie Goulding's love life has taken over tabloid headlines for quite some time, but it looks like her most recent break up could be her last for a while. Confirming her split from McFly bassist Dougie Poynter and her subsequent single life, Goulding explained she doesn't need another guy any time soon and that her friends will suffice.

"I [used to] put men on a pedestal. I decided to remedy that, and that's why I'm single now," Ellie told Cosmopolitan Magazine. "They'd be everything [but] I've realized I don't need a guy. I've got amazing, awesome, stupid friends in the best way possible."

On top of Poynter, Ellie has been romantically linked to Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, and Jeremy Irvine, with some of these relationships only being rumors.

The "Burn" songstress added: "A lot of despair in breaking up with someone is thinking about how you're going to cope in the future. But not being completely present prevents you from being happy and alive. As soon as you stop relying so heavily on what happened in the past, you end up being able to deal."

Meanwhile, in a new revealing interview with Billboard Magazine, one of Ellie's rumored lovers, Ed Sheeran, revealed that one of his new songs is about a cheating, singer ex. Speculators have already started assuming he's talking about Ellie and her rumored relationship with Niall Horan.

"I was seeing someone for a bit, and then they ended up physically involved with one of my friends in the same hotel that we were staying in, while I was downstairs," Sheeran said. "And I feel like: 'Treat people how you want to be treated'."
