Teddy Bridgewater hits out at his critics: Can Louisville QB go No. 1 in 2014 NFL Draft?

For a long while many said Teddy Bridgewater was the best QB in the 2014 NFL Draft, but after a bad pro day and the arrival of others, many seem, well, not bothered about Bridgewater. He had an exceptional season last year, and many believe he is the most NFL-ready player in this years class of players. He has a message for his critics it seems, he's said they need to watch the game tape.

The Louisville QB said "Put on the game tape." He continued, saying "The game tape speaks volumes because I'm in live action, I'm out there making reads, going through progressions, redirection protection, signalling hot routes, getting the offense in and out of the right play," Bridgewater told ESPN Thursday. "Looking at those things, I think those things outweigh the pro day."

Why did his pro day hurt his stock? NFL draft analyst Mike Maycock said "I've never seen a top-level quarterback in the last 10 years have a bad pro day, until Teddy Bridgewater," The analyst continued "He had no accuracy, the ball came out funny, the arm strength wasn't there, and it made me question everything I saw on tape because this was live. I went back and watched a bunch more tape and compared him to the rest of the guys in the draft," Mayock said. "And like it or not, I've come to a conclusion -- if I was a GM in the NFL, I would not take him in the first round of the draft."

With all of this in mind, could the Houston Texans still take the man they had deeply considered using the No. 1 pick on, or has that ship sailed? Who will draft Teddy Bridgewater, and how can one pro day take him from NFL-ready to not ready to be the face of a franchise?
