The drum battle to end all drum battles took place last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when professional drummer Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers faced off against comedian Will Ferrell. We finally found out which of the lookalikes was better at drumming after years of wondering ... or whatever. This was really just one of the funniest events of 2014 so let's look back and enjoy!

"We're going to have a drum-off to see who the real Chad Smith is," the real Chad Smith told Rolling Stone earlier this month. "I'm all for it. But unless Will's been practicing or is secretly a crazy, wild drummer, I think it'll be evident right off the bat who the real Chad Smith is. I'm ready to take him down."

The Chili Pepper added Will's drumming ability is "Terrible. I hope he's practicing."

"I have not been practicing," Ferrell responded. "There's no amount of practice that would help me become a good drummer."

Deemed "Drum Vs. Cowbell," this percussion battle was all for charity! You can find out more about the charities, Cancer for College and Little Kids Rock, HERE and HERE!

First, let's take a look at some funny behind-the-scenes segments thanks to Funny Or Die's Instagram feed:

Here we have the interview segment where the two participants spoke a bit with Fallon about the upcoming drum-off right before sitting behind their respective sets to face off:

Finally, we have the actual drum-off! Check it out in all of its glory right here:
