After four years of build-up and one month of exciting action, the winners of the 2014 World Cup have been decided. Many said, with the World Cup being held in Brazil, no European team could win it. However, Germany took on Argentina, with both hoping to make history. The game was edgy, with both sets of players trying to play it simple. The game went to extra-time, and late on substitute Mario Götze scored a stunning goal, meaning Lionel Messi and his Argentina side will have to wait another four years to try and lift the trophy once again. Fans such as LeBron James were in awe at the stunning match.

Many have suggested that Messi needed a World Cup win to become the best ever player, but his team fell short, and the critics will be out in full force. With that in mind, perhaps he will look to have another record-breaking season for Barcelona, and that might help to ease the pain. Germany have spent years building a young team, but one that has plenty of experience. Their motto has been to break talents in earlier than most countries, and it seems that this may be the new philosophy the likes of England and Italy may adopt.

Gotze, despite being at the beginning of his career, has now added a hot of trophies to his collection. His winning goal will be remembered for years to come, and some may say it'll be hard to top that moment in the remainder of his career. Team USA have been looking to follow some of the German ways, so could they be a major force in 2018, or will Argentina and Messi learn from experience and finally get their hands on the coveted trophy?

Who will win the 2018 World Cup, and will Messi come to watch James if his his Cleveland Cavaliers make it the the 2015 NBA Finals?
