The scrutiny of international basketball is now expected to go to an all-time high, especially as one of the best players in the NBA, Paul George, suffered a horrific leg injury, one of the worst the world has seen, playing a practice match for Team USA. Watch the injury HERE. The injury was so bad that fellow guard Kyrie Irving was seen hugging his dad in despair, whilst fellow stars LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard, and many others, all offered their support and distress at the horrible situation.

George has become one of the best players in the NBA, more than capable on both ends of the floor, and he was a large part of the Pacers recent success, and with Lance Stephenson opting to leave, this was supposed to be a bigger year than ever before, but now his team are looking ahead at tough times. Can George ever play again? If so he may not be the same player. Louisville's Kevin Ware suffered a similar injury in an NCAA game, but this one seems like it could be a lot worse for the player, and his team.

George is not only a great player, but a popular one, as his warm reception afterwards shows. Many people rushed to Twitter to explain how "sick" the injury was, with some reportedly throwing up after witnessing the video.

Is this one of the worst injuries ever, and should players avoid international basketball? Thoughts and prayers are being sent to George, and he's going to need them for his recovery.
