The 2014 Basketball World Cup is just weeks away, and soon after the 2014/15 NBA season will start, too, but it seems the current players and ones that have left, have all gone a bit crazy. Last week the entire sport joined together as Indiana Pacers' guard Paul George broke his leg, but since everything's changed. LeBron James has visited the Cleveland Browns, but could he play for them? Kevin Durant has refused to play for Team USA at the World Cup and last but not least, Ron Artest, who changed his name to Metta World Peace, has changed his name to The Pandas Friend. Crazy stuff, right?

George is likely to miss most of the upcoming NBA season, and it seems it has scared the life out of James and Durant. James soon visited his local NFL team, the Cleveland Browns, and some have joked saying he could leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to play for them, but he's insisted he will be there as a fan. Durant, however, has changed his mind about playing at the World Cup. The reports suggest that exhaustion is the reason, but some believe it's the fear of going through an injury like George has.

Strangely, Artest, who now plays for Chinese basketball team Sichuan Blue Whales has changed his name. The crazy ex-New York Knicks players loves to be the center of attention, and it appears just as he's been forgotten, he wants the world to remember him. The star has the craziest name in the sport, but he's the highest-paid player in China. Ironically, Artest doesn't joke around, and it's likely he will want everybody to call him by his new name, just like he did when he last changed his name.

Has the NBA and the sport of basketball gone crazy, and if so, did George's injury prompt these strange events?
