Lionel Messi To Quit Barcelona For Premier League Transfer To Beat Cristiano Ronaldo?

The Premier League transfer window shuts on Monday evening, but could the biggest deal of all be saved until last? Many stars have swapped La Liga for the Premier League this summer, but many are wondering, could Lionel Messi leave Barcelona and join Manchester United, Chelsea or Manchester City? Unlikely, but if he wants to top Cristiano Ronaldo, it might be the smartest decision he's ever made. 

Many would wonder why a move of this magnitude would take all summer to complete. Simply put, if Messi leaves it 's going to be a late deal during one of the transfer windows. When a star player is sold, clubs always inflate the prices if the players that said club tries to replace him with. For example, Barcelona have made some exciting, yet reasonably priced signings this summer, but had they of sold Messi first, clubs would expect double the agreed fee. 

Messi is likely to want to test the EPL one day, and if not this summer, perhaps next summer. One thing that's for sure is that his sake would generate around $400 million, meaning Barcelona would most certainly wait until deadline day to give such a deal the go-ahead. 

Messi's long-time rival, Ronaldo, blitzed through the EPL and then La Liga, so could Messi do it in reverse order to top Ronaldo, showing him who's the best once and for all.
