When the Indianapolis Colts gave up on veteran quarterback Peyton Manning, many were in shock, but they soon realized why once they drafted his replacement, Andrew Luck. Despite Luck's brilliant start to his career, Manning showed him he still knows best, and that while he's around, he'll always remain the boss. Both players and teams are tipped to lead their team to the Super Bowl this season, so a week 1 match-up on Sunday Night Football was always likely to excite, right? The Broncos found it easy in the first half, but Luck showed that he's nearly at Manning's level with his second-half effort. However, it wasn't good enough as they lost 31-24.

Luck has earned a reputation as the comeback-king, yet he will be wanting much more than that. The 24-year-old QB is in his third season, and now the pressures starting to pile, with many wanting to compare him to Russell Wilson, who won the Super Bowl in his second season. It's clear Luck's potential is endless, but his team isn't quite up to scratch yet, meaning he might not reach Manning and Wilson's level jut yet.

One thing that will stand him well, is his ability to grow in to games. However, imagine how vital it would be if he could start a game as hot as Peyton can. What some do forget, is that Peyton one one Super Bowl in Indianapolis in 13 years, whilst Luck has only had two seasons. On this showing, Peyton may very well still be the man, but Luck's matured rapidly for a younger player, and he ahs years to build a championship-winning team.

Other than the game 1 importance, when comparing the two, are there really any losers? Peyton's had a splendid career, whilst Luck's started his career well, and has all the time in the world to mature in to everything Peyton is, or more.
