Million Dollar Baby actress Hilary Swank is coming to TV, but it's not for an acting role. The 40-year-old actress will be hosting Fox's Thanksgiving night dog-a-thon.

Hilary has teamed up with Fox for The Great American Dog-a-Thon, which will be two hours and air on Thanksgiving on the network. The P.S. I Love You actress will both host and executive produce the show.

"I have long been an advocate for animal adoption and know first-hand the immense joy a shelter animal brings to our lives. Yet, every year more than four million animals are euthanized because of overcrowding in shelters," Hilary told Entertainment Weekly.

"We are so fortunate to have an animal advocate in the Fox network that not only sees the need for more awareness surrounding this issue, but is willing to set aside a two-hour block for this important cause," she added. "This partnership will change the path of a soul for thousands of animals looking for their forever home."

The two-hour segment will celebrate rescue dogs by giving viewers a chance to adopt them or foster them. There will also be musical guests and awards given out during the special. Guest celebrities will include Miranda Lambert, Kristen Bell, Betty White, Kesha and Josh Duhamel.

In October, Hilary will be helping actors, not dogs, at the 22nd annual Hamptons International Film Festival. "We are so honored to have two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank serve as a mentor for these actors. Her prestigious career serves as an inspiration to many young actors," executive director of the festival Anne Chaisson and artistic director David Nugent told Variety.

Hilary will also receive Variety's Creative Impact in Acting Award at the festival, which runs October 9–13 in East Hampton, New York. The actress will be there for the festival's centerpiece film The Homesman. She will then appear with Variety's Gaydos on October 12 for "A Conversation With..." panel.
