Blake Sims is quickly helping the Alabama fans to forget about their former leader, A.J. McCarron. It seems he's also growing through both the good and the bad. His team beat Arkansas 14-13, but if Sims is to be believed, this may be his most valuable win yet, with him claiming it has made him a better leader, and quite possibly more McCarron-like, meaning he and 'Bama, are capable of future NCAA success.

Despite their struggles, they won the game, and Sims explained, "I think my leadership was much better. I let the team know, hey, I'm here for y'all. Whatever you do, mistakes, I'm behind you no matter what. I'm going to lose no faith. If you're down, look at me. I'll smile at you and hey, I'm going to pick you up and play the next play."

He continued, "I think the thing that motivated us this week and helped us play so hard was that loss. It hurt us bad because we knew that we was probably better than the other team and the comments that we were getting. We knew all week through practice we were fighting so hard. All the leaders stood up and said hey, this is not how we do it. This is not the 'Bama way."

Despite a lot of changes, they're not having a horrific season, and more importantly, Sims is slowly becoming the man they once had in McCarron. Can Sims lead them to success? Time will tell, but he's slowly getting to where the fans want him to be.
