The Los Angeles Lakers may no longer be the best team in the NBA, and they might have started the 2014-15 season in horrific fashion, but they still have A-list support. With Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Will Ferrell, Gerard Butler and Adam Levine in attendance, it's safe to say the arena wasn't short on superstars. Also, sadly, it appears Steve Nash will be joining them, with a season-ending injury, and now rookie Julius Randle has broken his leg on his debut, leaving veteran Kobe Bryant to carry their team. Can the Lakers give their A-list support something to shout about?

Rookie Randle broke his leg, and the arena was left in shock.

Coach Byron Scott explained, "Obviously, the last four or five minutes of the game were not very important to us. It was more important to kind of really feel where he was and how he felt. I had the chance to talk to him briefly. We just all feel bad, you know? A young, promising player, and unfortunately, the first game of the season, he gets an injury. You know what, he didn't say anything. He was just kind of crying a little bit. I just told him it was going to be OK, to stay strong. He's going to be a great player in this league. It's just going to make him have to work harder, and he has that in him. We'll just wait for him to get back."

The Lakers had held out a lot of hope that Randle would help them to recover from their fall from grace, yet his injury is likely to cause a ton of unexpected problems. Their roster looks increasingly weak, and short of options after one of 82 games. The Lakers had better hope Kobe can return to his old self as soon as possible.

Will Randle recover quicker than expected, and can the Lakers entertain their celebrity guests? Comment below!
