"Really Don't Care" singer Demi Lovato has had body issues in the past and now she is revealing what a positive body image really is. The 22-year-old also shares her on-tour fitness secrets while performing in New York!

Lovato has realized through her own health issues that having positive role models for your body image is a must. She now tries to be a role model for girls and show them that you can embrace whatever body you have, similar to the way Kim Kardashian has proven her body is great, even if she isn't stick thin.

"For so long it was the very skinny, frail model look, and that's what I grew up looking at. For me, I thought that's what you had to look like, so growing up thinking that and then seeing women like [Kim Kardashian] and Beyoncé," Demi exclusively told E! News in New York City on Tuesday.

"I mean, Kim, say what you want about her, but she's a very successful woman and she really kind of revolutionized what beauty was when she came on the scene. For me, embracing that, and I want younger women to see that you don't have to be something that you're not."

That being said, the "Heart Attack" singer now focuses less on being thin and more on being healthy. In order to keep her body ready to perform, she admitted that she cycles all the time.

"I brought Soul Cycle bikes on the road, so on my show days, I do 45 minutes of cycling as hard as I can and then I perform for an hour and a half. So, it was like X-amount of cardio every day," the Texas-native told the publication.

She added, "But I also have an amazing trainer and I'm on a meal plan that helps me stay focused."

The singer is going to need those workouts and eating plans to maintain her strength as she continues to write her new album, which will reportedly drop in 2015. "She's already done some songs, but certainly the majority of it will kick off next year," her manager told Billboard about her new music.
