After months of rumors surrounding the Steve Jobs biopic movie project, with a script by Aaron Sorkin and filmmaker Danny Boyle lined up as director, Christian Bale was named the leading star of the project. Unfortunately, just this week Bale dropped out of the movie, leaving Sorkin once again without star to take on his Jobs flick.

Bale isn't the first to leave the project. Director David Fincher was originally attached to the Steve Jobs movie, but left to pursue other films. Also, Leonardo DiCaprio was allegedly in talks for the leading role, but left around the same time Fincher did. The progress of the movie picked back up when Boyle jumped onboard and then the speculation about Bale started spreading, only to be confirmed last month.

Describing the role of Jobs during a recent interview, Sorkin explained that the part would be very demanding and the star would be featured in every scene. He then explained that Bale was the perfect actor for the job.

"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Chris Bale," Sorkin said in an interview with Bloomberg Television's Emily Chang. "He didn't have to audition"

"The role is an extremely difficult role," Sorkin revealed. "He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined. There isn't a scene or a frame that he's not in. And there's a tremendous amount of language. So it's an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it."

Unfortunately, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "Sources say Bale, after much deliberation and conflicting feelings, came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw."
