In the wake of the Amanda Bynes mental illness media frenzy as well as losing a much loved and talented actor to the illness, Robin Williams, MStars News now reveals other celebrities that have dealt with mental health disorders and have both shared their stories and overcome the harrowing troubles it can bring.

Paula Deen
The woman with the Southern charm and cooking skills is no stranger to panic attacks and agoraphobia. The cooking queen revealed in an interview with Larry King Live that she wouldn't leave her house without a brown paper bag. "I never knew when they were going to hit me, but it's the most terrifying, uncontrollable feeling."

Catherine Zeta-Jones
The Chicago actress has long dealt with bipolar disorder and has undergone inpatient treatment for the illness. In May of 2013 the actress was in rehab to help with her disorder. Her husband Michael Douglas revealed in an interview that, "Sometimes you don't think you need any meds at all, and you forget your meds. Then all of a sudden, you get on a real ride," he said. "But she's fine. She's got it stabled out. She's doing great and I can't wait to see her."

Emma Stone
Playing confident characters does not mean one is stable off camera. The actress told Vogue magazine in July 2012 that she struggled with panic attacks since age eight. "I was just kind of immobilized by it," she said. "I didn't want to go to my friends' houses or hang out with anybody, and nobody really understood."

Mel Gibson
In an interview with The Syndey Morning Herald Gibson revealed, "I have had some really good highs, but some really worse lows. I discovered recently that I am manic depressive." Gibson was arrested in 2006 for DUI and since made public apologies.

Jim Carrey
Comedians are not exempt from the extremes of mental illness. Carrey took the anti-depressant Prozac for years while battling depression. "It may have helped me out of a jam for a little bit, but people stay on it forever. I had to get off at a certain point because I realized that, you know, everything's just okay," he told CBS News in 2009.

Other celebrities that have struggled with mental health are Zach Braff, Sheryl Crow and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
