In this week's Top Chef, titled "12 Chefs Walk Into a Bar...," Aaron says Katsuji's plan is to get into people's mind, while Keriann is upset that she is doing horribly and misses her kids. They get a note that they will be cooking at the Cheers bar. The guest is George Wendt who played Norm on the show.

The quickfire challenge is to make a bar snack food. Keriann is feeling better during the challenge after talking to her husband, while Aaron makes a burger with peanut better, which doesn't sound too appetizing. Gregory's plating turns disastrous when a few of the pieces to his burger dish fall on the floor so he has to serve an incomplete dish. In the end, it's between Katsuji and Keriann's dishes; Katsuji (my favorite), wins and gets immunity so we'll see him for another week! (Take that, Aaron!)

The elimination challenge is with special guest Chef Michael Schlow. The challenge is to create a classic three-course Italian menu; the team whose menu is ordered the most wins. It's a huge game-changer because the food doesn't have to taste the best to win, it's all about luring the diner and not making the menu complicated. Then comes the big shocker... it's a double elimination! Everyone divides into teams of three with Aaron and Katsuji ending up on the same team with Gregory. James's team does a seafood centric menu which he's not on board with, but goes along with it anyway. This could be foreshadowing for the elimination.

Service starts and Katsuji and Aaron start fighting, but Gregory steps in to calm Aaron down. Padma, Tom, Richard, and guest Emmy Rossum sit down to order. Purple and blue teams seem to get ordered the most. Emmy says she is gluten free and the chefs need to make a gluten free dish for her. Katsuji sends out his dish without the pasta to make it gluten free. Luckily, he has immunity because it looks terrible. Orange team's dishes seem like the least called out ones. Doug's salad is brought to the judges who say it has to be good if he wants to survive since it's only a salad. Well, they actually like it.

The gray team now looks like the least ordered; James says in his interview he now regrets not doing the lamb, as his wild shrimp is brought out to the judges and they don't like it. On the blue team, Rebecca's scallop dish is their least favorite, which could mean she's also going home. Then came Stacy's dish; the judges hated the vegetables and the way her steak was sliced.

At judges' table, Tom regrets not having seen more risks taken. The winning team was between the purple and blue teams, with purple being the winner. The judges tell Katsuji he would've gone home if he didn't have immunity or if his team didn't win the challenge, while Orange team are told they're safe. James, Stacy, and Rebecca made the least favorite dishes so two of them are going home.

In the end, it's Rebecca and James who are told to pack their knives and go. Rebecca feels she will still make it back with "Last Chance Kitchen." This week's episode was ok, but usually double elimination episodes are more exciting than this. Hopefully, more drama next week. At least we'll have more Katsuji for at least one more!
